In a dedicated one-hour consultation, Dr Clara Chu, General Practitioner with a special interest in fertility and preconception care, can review your reproductive health, discuss any concerns, arrange appropriate initial fertility investigations for both partners and help you understand what to do next.
Appointments are bulk billed for eligible Medicare patients.

Meet Dr Clara Chu
Dr Clara Chu is a General Practitioner with a special interest in fertility and preconception care.
Dr Chu provides dedicated fertility and preconception consultations at Minerva Fertility.
Her role is to provide an accessible first point of care for couples who would like advice, initial assessment and appropriate fertility investigations before determining whether specialist fertility care is required.
Working within Minerva Fertility means Dr Chu can also connect patients directly with the clinic’s fertility specialists when further investigation or specialist management is appropriate.

Your appointment with Dr Chu is a dedicated one-hour consultation to discuss your fertility, ask questions and understand your next steps.
Depending on your circumstances, your consultation may include:
Your fertility & medical history
A review of your general health, reproductive history, menstrual cycle and any fertility concerns, considering both partners where appropriate.
Preconception advice
Personalised guidance on lifestyle, nutrition, medications, supplements and preparing for pregnancy.
Initial fertility investigations
Where appropriate, Dr Chu can arrange:
Fertility blood tests
Semen analysis
Pelvic ultrasound
Tubal assessment with HyCoSy
Ovulation assessment or cycle tracking
Your next steps
Dr Chu can review your results, provide guidance and, if needed, refer you directly to a Minerva Fertility specialist.
Consultations are bulk billed for eligible Medicare patients. External pathology, imaging or other service fees may apply.

Fertility GP consultations are bulk billed for eligible Medicare patients, meaning there is no out-of-pocket consultation fee for eligible patients.
Please note that pathology, ultrasound, HyCoSy and other investigations or external services are provided separately and may attract additional fees.

Dr Chu can then recommend appropriate investigations and help develop a plan for your next steps.

Depending on your individual circumstances, investigations may include fertility-related blood tests, semen analysis, pelvic ultrasound, tubal assessment with HyCoSy, ovulation assessment or cycle tracking.
Not every test is appropriate or required for every patient.

Yes. A semen analysis may be arranged when clinically appropriate as part of the couple’s fertility assessment.

Yes. Pelvic ultrasound and tubal assessment using HyCoSy may be arranged where clinically appropriate.
These investigations are provided separately from your GP consultation and fees may apply.

If further assessment or specialist fertility care is recommended, you can be referred to a Minerva Fertility specialist.
